Upgrading and expanding DT.717 road connecting Binh Thuan province with Lam Dong province

Route DT.717 has a total length of 39.88 km, passing through the provinces of
Binh Thuan and Lam Dong; starting point at Km159+140 National Highway 55 (Ta
Pao bridge, Tanh Linh district, Binh Thuan province), end point at Km94+500
National Highway 20 (Lam Dong province); The section through Binh Thuan
province has a length of 29.4 km, the section through Lam Dong province has a
length of 10.48 km. This is an important route connecting National Highway 55
and National Highway 20, connecting Binh Thuan province with Lam Dong province
and is the gateway connecting the Central Highlands region, helping to regulate
traffic, circulation and transport of agricultural products, fertilizers,
building materials, etc. between the two localities.
In order to ensure
traffic safety and synchronization in connecting the first section of the route
and the section through Lam Dong province, the investment in upgrading and
expanding the DT.717 route from Km19+900 to Km29+300 (From P'Lao intersection to
the border with Lam Dong province) is essential.
On that basis, the
Department of Planning and Investment has proposed the Provincial People's
Committee to consider and assign the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment
Project Management Board to make a report on investment policy proposal for the
project of upgrading and expanding DT.717 road, the section from Km19+900 to
Km29+300 (From P'Lao intersection to the border with Lam Dong province); The
project implementation period will be at the end of the 2021-2025 period and
transition to the 2026-2030 period. The Department of Planning and Investment
will advise on balancing capital sources for the project, report to the
Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Provincial People's Council to
add the project of upgrading and expanding DT.717 road, the section from
Km19+900 to Km29+300 (from P'Lao intersection to the border with Lam Dong
province) into the medium-term public investment plan for the period of
2021-2025 and transition to the period of 2026-2030 according to regulations.
