Visiting and encouraging people to overcome damages from boats sunk due to floods in La Gi town

(binhthuan.gov.vn) In front of damages caused by heavy rain on the upstream of Dinh river basin, La Gi town on the afternoon of 28/8/2021, which sank boats anchored on the river, the Provincial People Committee (the PPC) has just issued an urgent dispatch requesting relevant departments and agencies and the People's Committee of La Gi town to urgently remedy the damages to boats caused by floods and rains.

Accordingly, the People's Committee of La Gi town shall chair over and coordinate with the Border Guard Command, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in directing forces to review the number of local boats anchored on Dinh River, guiding the arrangement of moorings reasonably and safely in order to keep the distance, creating ventilation for the flow, and preventing the same incidents as above; implementing well the prevention of natural disasters and COVID-19 epidemic according to regulations. At the same time, reviewing and synthesizing the list of fishermen' damages to report and request the Provincial Relief Committee, and the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee for supporting households with sunken ships; organizing the visitation for encouraging people to overcome difficulties and damages caused by rains and floods.

The PPC also requests the relevant departments, agencies and the People's Committee of La Gi town to urgently prepare plans to specifically assign forces to assist fishermen in rescuing sunken boats as soon as the flood subsides while ensuring safety in Covid-19 prevention. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development shall monitor the flood situation, coordinate with the People's Committee of La Gi town to support fishermen in the process of salvaging sunken boats; advise and propose the PPC to consider and support funds for repairing damages of fishing boats from the Fund for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control according to regulations.
